English is an international language. It very important for everyone especially for the people who's trying to learn and to improve the English language. I love English language because I can learn a lot knowledge such as vocabulary, Grammer, Idiom and other phrase sentences. It very interesting and give me a confident to learn. I put my effort and challenging to learn the English language in the class and pay an attention who's giving by my lecturer Pn Sitha. If without any problem and distribution hopefully I can learn quick and improve it as soon as possible.
Besides that i enjoy any lessons in the class, listen procedures and try understanding the message giving by my lecture's Pn Sitha. Firstly, I must try to be communicate/speaking in the class with my lecturer, friends. From the speaking, I try to make correct the grammatical mistake. Listening, try to heard good pronunciation in the message and others criteria’s such as practices writing and others also can help me to improve the English language.
Finally, I hope I can learn good English, if I pay an attention and encourage myself to learn better.

Question Task 1
Firstly I search UP TO DATE Prof. David Crystal to the websites to listen to Prof. David Crystal’s recording as many times and read the text through the acrobat, and finally I know that he talked about,” In Your Dream". Prof. David Crystal giving me the meaning of definition of dream, he said" that someone is being unrealistic, very hopeful and any circumstances in which expectations are raised-in your dream”. From the listening I can study a lot of new Vocabulary, Grammar, Phase of sentences that I never listen before. Beside that I also learned about pronunciation and improve the stress words in text, it can make me more confident in pronunciation. It provides that benefit tips to train me for the listening skills.
Question Task2
In the class I pay attention to my lecturer's Pn. Sitha. She explains the vocabulary and grammar to our class. She make sure me able to understand the prefix and suffix user in the lesson on. Example of prefix is logical-illogical and example of suffix is happy-happiness. Then, teach us how to use the verb, adjective, noun in the sentences. Able to understand the idiom, find the meaning of idiom. Example of the idiom. After that, the group activity is also going on. It make us be more cooperate to each other in the team. We also learn several skills of reading such as skimming, scanning and others to improve our learning skills. I hope through the learning in the class, can help me more understanding and confident to improve our English.

Hello for my lovely teacher Madam Sitha and all of my friend. Glad to see for our second assignment which want us to listen to Prof David in learning English website. Fuhh… I can breath easy now because after for many times I’ve tried to search this website because the server always down every time I want to log on the website, finally I can heard what Prof David said and from what he said I can learn so many new things. His language is not really hard to make me understand of what he said.
From this website I’ve choose about Wicked. Wicked it means 'wonderful', 'great', 'cool', 'splendid'. It came into English from United States' black slang in the 1980s or maybe earlier. Certainly it arrived in Britain in the late 1980s.
It was part of a trend which goes back decades to use bad words to mean good concepts, or the other way round. And always there's been this use of the word 'naughty' to mean 'nice'. So it's part of a general trend.
'Wicked!' is a reaction - that's how youngsters use it. And youngsters, of course, knowing that grown ups are now using it as well, have decided to use other bad words in the same sort of way.
Wicked is still around. It's meant, of course, that the traditional sense of wicked is now being squeezed out, much as 'gay' made it difficult to use the traditional sense of 'merry' or 'cheerful' when it started to be used in reference to homosexuals. So with wicked, tone of voice is the only way to make the distinction between the old meaning and the new meaning, and even that's ambiguous sometimes. And notice that the word is extending its use. The other day, for the first time, Prof David told that he heard somebody said, 'wicked cool'. That is meaning 'very cool'.

Just now, I was listened David Crystal. Firstly, when i listened it, I can't pick up what the topic it talked about. I do not understand very well. But, i repeated to listen it more and more. And i think, it is not so difficult.
The topic is about our dream.That's means, somebody is being unaware, hopeful and very optimistic. I believe, everyone of us was dream. Maybe somebody is unaware about their dreams.
In dictionary the meaning of dream is to waste time by thinking about what may happen.

Hello my lovely lecture, Madam Sitha and also my happening friends….{^________^}
Today…for the last day that we must submit our assignment for this blog,I have listening to the Professor David Crystal web site. At the first time when I knew we must done this as our second assignment, think it’s not quite difficult…maybe it’s just seem like our MUET listening before…but…when I heard it…waarrrghhh..it’s quit difficult for me to understand what he was talking about! Same with everyone, I was heard it for 3-4 times, but I’m still blurred…cannot understand it 100%...
From the headlines ‘Keep Your English Up To Date’, I was choosing the topic ‘Mwah!’ because it sounds so interesting for me. Actually this topic is about what we understand about the meaning of ‘mwah’. Actually, it’s a sort of ‘sound symbolic’ word and its mean a lovely way of expressing the actual noise that takes place when you do a phony kiss of this kind. As example, when one person puts the cheek against the other person's cheek and they have what is often called an 'air' kiss. They make a kissing noise, which shows that they're coming together, as great intimates, but it's not a real kiss at all. And many people then give this air kiss a noise, a word, and it's usually 'mwah', 'mwah' - something like that.
I got a lot of new words from this listening like I was list below:
1) intimate = to tell people something in an indirect way
2) affectation = something that is not part of your natural personality but that you do or say to impress people
3) awful = used for emphasizing how unpleased someone or something
I certainly was heard this ‘mwah’ word on the radio and certainly it was used as a way of saying goodbye to listeners, so everyone…mwah!!!mwah!!!

For my beloved teacher, Madam Sitha and my fellow friends. Today, I would like to share with all of you about the English Foundation (ZZZH2014) class for the whole of 5 weeks ago. Firstly I would like to say sorry to Madam Sitha because for the 1st week class I’ve not attended to class for 3 days. I’m just attended to the class for one day only. Actually I’ve my on reason why I didn’t attend to class for that time. On 14th and 15th May, I’m actually graduated for my Diploma Electronic Engineering at Politeknik Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. So, that’s why I can’t attend to class.
For my first day at our class, I’m feel so happy and enjoy with this subject. Although I’m so tired because I’m just arrived from my hometown Kuala Terengganu at that time. I'm feel anxious to tell Madam about my 3 days before. but with my friend support I try to tell the trueth to Madam and how so nice because Madam accept my reason. thanks a lot to Madam.
I learn so many new thing in this class. I learn how to communicate without feel embaress and i can improve my english more better. i've found new vocab and i'm also can acting in the class. i'm so happy and enjoyed with all of activities that Madam Sitha gave to us. i'm also want to say sorry to Madam because i'm always late came to your class.

In third semester I must take English Foundation (ZZZH 2014) because I just got band 2 in MUET. Actually I didn’t make any preparation for my MUET paper because at the same time I’m busy with my study for final exam.
To avoid from feel bored while semester 3, I decided to take one more subject that is U2 (Kepimpinan Interpersonal) but unfortunately in this semester I’m involve with many tournament for four weeks. Tournament for MASUM at USM Pulau Pinang, SUKNES at Seremban Negeri Sembilan and the latest WSFFM (Women’s Sports And Fitness Foundation Malaysia) at Bukit Jalil Kuala Lumpur. Here I want to say I’m so very sorry Madam because can’t give my full commitment for this course.
I’m still remember, when I gave exemption letter to Madam. She was suggested me that I better drop this subject. I’m really shocked and felt so sad when she said like that but I think she just joke. Even though I didn’t came for fourth weeks but I still done my work and submitted on the time. For any information about this subject for fourth weeks I didn’t came class I got from Khadijah, Mimi and Ida. Thank a lot my friends.
On this time I have absent only 5 lectures. That time I learned how to communicate like by using body language and dialogue with action. From that I saw Madam is dreative person to make us interest in this subject. I feel so happy and enjoy the class. For all the best thing you do only words ”Thanks” for teaching me……………

In this semester 3, 2006/2007 session, i'd took a foundation english ZH 2014 paper. It is one of the 'degree qualification condition' of my course that i must took to complete my course.
Therefore along this course, me and my friend had learn all many thing such as proving in reading, writing, listening, speaking and improve our vocabulary. However what i want to share here were my experience by learning english along this course.
To improve our reading skill, we must read one of the 'penguin's story books' and i had choose 'The Gulliver's travel'. It was such a very good story book. Simple and easy to understand. Subsequently it make my vocabulary much better than before.:) I'd took just only 30 minutes to finish this book. By reading this book make me went to 'Tun Sri Lanang Library' that i never get in before.:) Thank you to Madam Sitha.
By taking this course also make my writing much better. It because in MUET (Malaysian University English Test) i only got 9/25 in writing. It maybe i didnt study and doesnt use english for writing anything. Im also realize i became more brave to talk in front of audience by using english language. And this is make me more confident to lecture in english after grade.
Moreover i had a very good group discussion and collique that make all thing came easy. Thank you to all of them.
Last but not least, what i want to say here were, for the first time i loves to go to english class every day. Before this i never like to went to english class even english course. :) Thank you to Madam Sitha, may god bless you and ours.:)

Now days , english is very important . As a communication , knowledge , technology , social and etc . As a human being we have our own language same like an animal and the plant . They also communicate to each other but with a different language with human language . But in the world we have to many language we use which is in different country , race and religious as a communication.That is why we need one language for everyone , and english was choosen as a international language . So it is very important to everybody have good in english,from english it automatically connect us with the other people which is in different country . In knowledge also , english is very important , this is because all of book of knowledge mostly written in english , as a student it is quite difficult if we cannot understand in english word .Beside that all people now thinking the technology is very important like internet , email , and other software that we can use to make our work more easy , nice and faster . For example if we need to find some information,we can use the internet to find what we want , and this is more easier and save time rather than we go to the library . But it will be quite difficult if we not good in english because the technology use english as a language . Let discuss from the other side . If you compare the person who are very good in english and the person who are not good in english , we can see which one is more confident , nicely and good in social communication . That is the employer want to the fresh graduate who become they employee . They will see how you manage your communication in english when you are in they interview .It is because it make easy when you have to oversea project and have to nagotiated businees with foreigner . ONLINE INDIVIDUAL LISTENING AND WRITING
What do you hope when you are talking or when you are telling someone a story?Of course you want everybody know and understand to whatever thing that you say. But try to you think how can others to understand if you can't pronouce some word properly as you need to make your audience understand? You too,if somebody told you a very funny story and he laugh very tough but uyou just circle your eyes because you dont understand some simple word that he was wrongly pronounce it,what do you think? After i explored this website i saw too much thing and benefit to my English. It teached us on how to pronounce every word correctly. As i know, the narrator that is Prof. David Crystal will pronounce every word properly and we just listen to him. Some people very bad when study English by a teacher at his eye, so that this program was very good because it's not only on pronounsation but it was including vocabulary and grammar. We also can learn on how to pronounce word by many slang as America and British.So that,to everybody having a problem on their English communication, you better try it!

MY ENGLISH LIFE
My mother is a English's teacher..but what happen to her son.I dont know why i really hate to study English since i was young.Since at my age 9 years old, my mother made a tuition class for my brother, my friends and i, but i'm the one who was very lazy and always sleeping in that class. I don't know what was my mother felt. At twelve, i'm sitting for UPSR (ujian penilaian sekolah rendah). When the result coming out,i got 4 A's but i just got B for my English. Then, when i was fifteen years old, i'm sitting for the PMR ( peperiksaan menengah rendah). The result same as i was twelve. I got A for all subject except for my English. When i was seventeen, the same thing happen again. After that i entered to Matriculation College, and i realize on what was happen to my English and what was i done to my mom. So that i was try hard to study English even i just got band 2 for my MUET. I promise to myself, one day English will be in my hand. I have a story but i don't it funny or not, but when i realize that day, i'll always smiling. One night, i am on the way from my faculty to my hostel. When i at on junction,i saw a foreigner's student walking. I felt sorry for that guy because i've walking from my faculty to my hostel. It very tired thing. But i so confused wether i want to hel0p him or not. I don't know why i return my motorcycle back to that guy. When i'm at him, i don't know what to say and just looking at him. The guy also looking at me. After that, "where are u going?" I ask him but i dont know wether my question was true or not. Then that guy was aswered me but too bad to me because i really can't got even a word from his answer. Automaticaly i ask "ha??". I think the guy know that i wasn't understand him. So that he was done something seem like dancing, so funny while he say "ceremony,,ceremony,,". After that i just know that he want to go to a program at our university's hall. I smiling and ask him to go with me."ok,ok..coming with me...lets go..". One more time i don't know what am i saying. And now, when i take English Foundation class. Again i promise to myself to make better than before.

The English language is permanently evolving and developing. New words and expressions are coined and existing words change their meaning. BBC Learning English website really can help me to keep my English up to date I can do some extra work by this way.
The aims of the audio script are to improve the listening skills and knowledge of English language. Professor David Crystal is a famous expert on language. He gives a few short talks on the origins and usage of new and evolved words and phrases that have recently made it into the language, but not even found in dictionaries.
The language work in this talk focuses on the acronym from phases.
The new word which is found in the talk is WYSIWYG. It is an acronym meaning 'what you see is what you get'. It means that what you see on the screen is what you get in the output. This type of acronym, when a phase becomes a collection of initials is common in internet chat and mobile phone text conversations.
After listened to the talk, I am just knowing that who is Britney Spears and she had a song which included it - 'because I can promise U baby what you see is what U get' - the word 'you' was spelt with just a capital letter 'U'. I have never known this before. I also think it got its accolade, this phrase, as what was told by Professor David Crystal.
In my opinion, it is difficult to detect a word with the basic knowledge of English languages since the sounds of word can be difference for other country. Therefore, I may know how to pronounce some words correctly after reading the transcript according to the audio script repeatedly. Then, I learn the grammar part and a lot of new words with their explanations.
There are a lot of vocabularies I learnt from the talk, some of them are:

(b) A cross-dressing character - a female actor who wears a male clothes on stage, or the
other way around.
(c) Circumstances - situation or contexts.

On the other hand, I would like to thank Madam Sitha who has taught us so much that were involving the funny activities during this short semester. She asked us to find the meaning and example of the idioms that used parts of the human body. In addition, we learnt about acrostic poem. I found that it is quite interesting when we are asked to write acrostic poems for each word in our names which will describe the attitudes of us. Then, Madam Sitha taught us about affixes which are divided into two parts, prefix and suffix. Besides, I also knew some misuse words, for examples, eligible and illegible.
Therefore, I think I have learnt more about English and like it so much.

I have go to David Crystal website ang there is so many word that I have not seen before. I choose the word 'Hotdesking' because it seem attractive to me. I want to know what the word means. So I download the audio to listen the Profesor David Crystal recording. I listen it many times to know the information inside this tape. After a few time listening this tape, I know the word "hotdesking" is means for the practice of sharing desks or workstations between office workers, on a sort rota system. The word "hotdesking" is use for people that dont't have individual desks for sharing desks for works with other workers. When the first time i see this work, I think it means the desks is hot because the beginning of the word, there is "hot" work. I've imagine the desk is "heat up" and the steam coming off the desk!. Now I understand "hotdesking" mean. The Audio of David Crystal really help me know the meaning of that word. Later, I want to use this website to find some other word that I've not understand. Hi everyone….I want to share with you all about my experience in Kem Syed Sirajuddin, Gemas, Negeri Sembilan. Two last weeks ago, I went for a training shoot at Kem Gemas. My friends (junior Rotu UKM) and I went to that kem on 19th May 2007 until 23rd May 2007. On 20th May 2007, we assembled at a court to go to Asahan (
t training with General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), Light Machine Gun (LMG) and Launcher. Huhu…that sounds is so loud. When we shoot, we must use ear plug for protect our ears.
On 21st May 2007, we drawer the M16 first before we go to Gallery (
On 22nd May 2007, we went to Asahan again show demonstrated on Low C 90,Mortar and Clearmomile (jerangkap samar). Huhu… that equipments were so hard to prepare. We must be careful when used that gun. The sounds were louder than GPMG and LMG. We felt the shacking of the gun when the bullet fell on the land. We can saw the land destroyed. I imagined that situations as in war. Huhu….it was frightened me.
On 23rd May 2007, we prepared smartly to go to 21 Artillery (21 RAD). We showed so many types of equipments and cannon. Wow, it’s so wonderful! We learns how to use it and I attracted with that cannon. In the evening, we went back to UKM.
I was so happy there, where I gained a lot of experienced. I learnt about military and make me became an independence person and be co-operative in team. That experienced made me felt in love in military environment. Maybe in the future, I can create a nuclear bomb to our country to fight against the enemy.Hehe…. but, of course I don’t want any war happen in this country.

So,today i would like to tell the story and shared my experienced for 5 week i attended this english class.At the first time i knew that the foundation english will be held in the 3rd semester,i'm really angry because for me,it will disturbing my holiday.But,by hook or by crook,i must attend this english class.Waaaa...so sad am i..=( Besides,for me,the timetable of this class that will be held four times a week,also make make angry!!But..people always said that..never say die before you try..that's right!!!Now,i feel that attend this class is the most best class that i never had before..For me,a great teacher;Madam Sitha and my cheerful friends maked this class so interesting and happening!!!Love you all guys...
I think,i'm the lucky one that was given a change to attend this class.Before this,i'm really ashamed with my other friends when i must taken this course.But now,my friends so very jealous with me because i always told or storied them about our best class and the activities that we have done!Huhu..I'm so proud..
From this class,i got many good knowledges and experiences.I knew that my english is very bad but when i join this class,since now,i think that my english have change a lot.I can improve my english very well when i done the exercises that have in the Longman.For me,Longman is the very good site for everyone to improve their english because it have everythings inside there like speaking,reading,listening,grammar and vocabulary.Besides,the module that we done in the class also help me a lot.Madam Sitha was done a good job for teaching us about this because she was explained to us very clearly and completely.Now,I got alot of new vocabulary and also knew little bit how to pronouns correctly.
In addition,this class also teach me how to be more confident when facing with the audience.I know that its really hard for me to talk in front of many people.I will got nervous and sometimes i became shaking!!!So,when the first time i must acting for the Romantic Meeting,i try my best to be cool.But i think,i feel better now and the drama presentation will help me a lot.

Assignment 2
For your information, to do this assignment I have borrowed a speaker to play the sound of Professor David Crystal. After I'm listened to Prof. David Crystal's recording, not once but so many times, and finally I understand his recording. The title I choose is “make my day”. It was a very simple word, but it caught my attention. It means that “do something that really please me”. Professor David Crystal uses hunters to explain this word. He said before the hunters start their operation hunting, they use to say “go ahead and make my day”, then they start hunt and they got victory. That’s word can be a motivation for they. What I got not only the meaning of the word, but I also learn a new vocabulary. After I listened, even I not really hear it clearly, but at least I learned some pronunciation. The way Professor David Crystal pronounces is very good. Man, I must improve my listening skill or else I can not heat what he says. In my opinion, this website is very useful, because it can help us to improve our English, only depend on us want to do it or not. I glad I found this website, and I will full use it.

Hello...Good evening madam..thank you for gave a comment to me for my first writing on this blog i'm appreciate that.Very nice word(sayang)...i really like it, you remind me to my mom oh i miss her so much..ok that is an enough to talk about that he..he..he...let's talk about the english.First of all i would like to say thank you so much to you madam for helping me to improve my english.Now i know what is my fearer and weaknes in english.I was taken the longman website exercise and quiz and from there i knew that my grammar and my pronouns was so terrible but a bit good in listening and speaking.But after i'm going to the next level and i have finish the exercise and during the review quiz i have a bit improve in my grammar and vocabulary. It's make me excited to make more exercise and that was really helpful to me,beside that i have practice my speaking when i am service the forigner in my photocophy shop .That was interesting and i am confident to do that.More over, in our class you also teach us what is a differences of surfix and prefix,when to use that words and how we pronounce.The combination of all of that make my english better than before.I quite proud with that,at least my sacrifice to get up in the early morning and burning my holiday produce the result.Now, i realize how to improve my english, where should i begin and what is the best way to make it succesful.Maybe it will take a long time,but at least i never stop to learn that better than nothing right.Like you always told us never stop to learning until the end.Thank you very much to have a time to read my writing and i hope this bloger never end until we have done our foundation,still keep in touch with everyone.

After I'm listened to Prof. David Crystal's recording as many times, and finally I know that he talked about,"In Your Dream",and for confirmation I read the tape script and listen again.Prof. David Crystal had given the definition of dream,he said" dream meant that someone is being unrealistic,very optimistic,very hopeful and any circumstances in which expectations are raised-in your dream,then he said,that it mixes two senses of word "dream" happens when you are as sleep.From the listening experience there, I had knew about dream,It was the same that I knew before,even thought I had new ideal and some more information about dream.Than ,from the experience I'm study a lot of new vocabulary,that I'm never listen before.Beside that I also learned about pronunciation.I realize that,sometimes I don't know how to pronounce some word,cause it make me scare and shy to talk in English,but after I'm visit the website,I'm find the way of solution to manage my problem how to improve my pronunciation.Next,I'm also learned listening too,cause I already know that he were fluently in English,so I tried so hard to understood.I really like to visit the website cause,there have been a lot of information,for English learning.I hope from the website I had to learn something that can improve my English.

Assignment 2....Listening...
Listening is to pay attention to what someone is saying or to some other sound ,so as to hear it properly.As we all know that if we want to be a good speaking,we must be a good listener.I have already go through to the learning English website in the Internet,i’m listened to the ‘Prof.David Crystal’s' website.I choose a ‘housekeeper’ topics.It is a dialogue topic.I read the tape script and listen again.The topics are about Margaret who want to be a housekeeper,but she was worried because she was well qualified and was going to do something which she saw as not qualified career.She was worried about her status whatever other people would see her as being not educated .Well, Margaret is comfortable being a housekeeper .She use insecure –uncertain, embarrassed , but she quite happy to say what she does.
When I listening this tape script ,it was very quite interesting for me because the way she read very different with her intonations that I heard before.I liked the way they dialogue each others,they stress part of dialogue to show it we know how the situation like sad,angry,happy and others.Beside that,I learned also about the new words that I never heard before like ‘give it ago'-try something to see what is like ,'buzz' in conversation and others.I’m try to find out the meaning in dictionary what the words that I do not understand it.Other that, I learned about how to pronouns the words when I’m listening . This make me realize that’s how it pronouns certain words.With learning this website,I’m tried to improved my pronunciation very clearer and correct .On the other hand,when I’m listen to this tape script ,I study about the vocabulary.I learned the way she write some interesting stories with her words that we can understand it.This way can improve my writing too.I study also about the moral value of this tape script,that give me realize about something that I have done .I enjoyed this website that give more chance the way to improved my English and give me a lot of information too.

First of all i want to thank to madam Sitha who teach us and try her best to give her knowledge to us. Since i attend this class i learn more about english. I think my english quit improve since i attend this english class. The activities during this class was enjoyable. I haven't attend such a best class as this before. I have learn many new vocabulary and new words during this class.
I'm very excited to see our drama. I hope we will perfome well and prove to all that we can do the drama and who will know that someone who is have the talent in acting in our class that someday can be an international actor. I think so. I also hope our class will cooperate to do the best drama and do not do the preparation until last minute.
I thought that the presentation of our project is around the corner. I hope we can give the best presentation to promote our countrey that we have choosen. The presentation will show our confidence, how to speak english and how to attract to audience to lend their ears to give their attention on our presentation. I hope my group can present better and be a good presenter. So far our group have finish to decorate the poster. Now we just discuss about on how to present our poster.
Last but not least, I hope we can complete every task or homework that madam sitha gave in class and for my class good luck for the presentation and hope you all enjoy our drama. RFrom this i have learn many not just about english but also its teach me how be a good person in our life.

Hello Madam. I’m Mohd Shahrin (A114859).Firstly, thanks to Madam Shita who teach me English because my English improve after I attend 3 week for the class. I would like to give my comment about my achievement in learning English. From reading, I can learn deriving meaning from context and understanding sense relationships within and between sentences. So, my English skill in reading more good now and I get extra knowledge how to understand about something when I read. From writing, I can improve my writing with use a suitable grammar.I learns how to write about anything topic and give more idea to write. In listening, I learn listening for main idea, listening for specific information and differencing. Improve myself to become a good listener. In Speaking I can improve my speaking skill with grammatical accuracy.I learns how to speak with people and talk with confident. In vocabulary I can get more knowledge about a new word in English and how to spell a complicated word. From making presentation, it is good for me to improve my confident skill to present and talk to all people. Give me some afford to handle the topic well. From participating in discussion, help me how to participating in group team and become me to confident for give the idea. Before that, my speaking is not good and I not confident to speak with people in English. I hope one day I become a good people and confident to speak in English...TQ..WASALAM
